Powerball Payout Chart

Powerball chances

While it might be a bit early to start checking the Powerball payout chart with one eye on the big drawing coming up next Saturday, we are putting long standing plans into action and publishing it today.

There is a total of 9 prize categories in the Powerball lottery, as you can see in the following chart:

Match Odds Prize All 5 numbers plus the Powerball 1 in 292,201,338 Jackpot All 5 numbers 1 in 11,688,053.52 $1 million 4 numbers plus Powerball 1 in 913,129.18 $50,000 4 numbers 1 in 36,525.16 $100 3 numbers plus Power ball 1 in 14,494.11 $100 3 numbers 1 in 579.76 $7 2 numbers plus Powerball 1 in 701.32 $7 1 number plus Powerball 1 in 91.97 $4 Only the Power Ball 1 in 38.32 $4

Note that the prize amount cited here above, do not take into account the Power Play option. This is an extention of the game which can increase the amount of wins significantly.

It only applies to the non jackpot tiers, but can multiply the prize amount by 2, 3, 4, or 5 (there is also a possibility of 10, should the jackpot estimate sit at under 150 million dollars). The multiplying factor is determined by a single number which is drawn seperately in each drawing.

The payout of the Match 5 is doubled with this option – bringing it to $2 million.

In addition to the main prizes, players also have the chance to increase their winnings by opting to include Power Play for a small additional fee.

This option increases all non-jackpot or Match 5 winnings by a multiple of 2, 3, 4 or 5 (or possibly 10 when the estimated jackpot is less than $150 million) depending on which Power Play number is drawn. Match 5 winnings are doubled to $2 million with the Power Play option.

Power Ball Results

powerball numbers for today

What are the latest Power Ball results? The intensity of tone in the voice which asks the question tends to be dictated by the jackpot amount at stake in the corresponding drawing. Make no mistake, there is a huge range of prizes to shoot for – the minimum jackpot amount is set at $40 million while the maximum is a figure much more difficult to define. At the time of writing this, it sits at a world record 675 million US dollars!

The banner above will always show the results from the latest drawing, and what is more, you can click it to view further information on the draw, such as breakdown of prizes, amounts and so forth.

Powerball previous results

This section of the site is very much a work in progress, so do bear with us. We do want to arrange things so that you can access all results published for the year 2016, as well as dating back further, although we might draw a line at the turn of the century or so.

In the meantime, you can access older draw results by clicking the banner we previously pointed your attention to. The previous draw results pile up quickly, due to drawings taking place not once, but twice per week.

I suppose it is fair to say that the Powerball numbers for Saturday drawing are in more demand, it tends to yield more to the accumulative ticket sales prize pot, but make no mistake – you don’t want to miss out on the Wednesday action either.

To clarify what is at stake, here is a table detailing the 8 prize categories of the lottery in question. It is worth noting that while we all (or most of us at least) dream of winning the grand jackpot prize, there are other handsome rewards in play.
